Some of our spacious rooms offer a balcony with view over the valley “Zwölfmorgental” or the castle Wernigerode. Families can stay in our family room with the possibility of an extra bed. The hotel is equipped with a fitness room and a modern, large sauna.

The hotel is equipped with 43 rooms, all with shower/wc and radio. The Schanzenhaus Active Hotel was opened in april 2005. It offers facilities for disabled people. All floors are accessible by lift, wheelchair accessible entrance. There are 2 rooms for disabled person on the ground floor.

The restaurant, decorated in traditional style, offers various regional menus, fish dishes, venison as well as vegetarian dishes. During the warmer seasons guests can dine on the spacious sun terrace and enjoy a delicious meal together with a glass of chilled local beer. For sweet tooth’s, the chefs bake home-made cake daily.

The Zwoelfmorgen Valley offers its visitors leisure activities of all kind, whether cycling, Nordic walking or also traditional hiking – there is everything for everyone. Wernigerode, the multicoloured city in the Harz Mountains, lures with numerous sights, e.g. museums, mines, various market places, the palace and much more. Visit one of the traditional glass manufactories and watch the glass blowers work.

Located in a picturesque environment – in the Zwoelfmorgen Valley in Werigerode – the hotel awaits its guests with 42 bright rooms offering a beautiful view of the Wernigerode palace and ski jump. The use of gym and sauna as well as the rich breakfast buffet is complementary for all of our guests.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later, 80 percent of the first night will be charged. In case of no-show, 80 percent of all nights will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All older children or adults are charged € 15.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
